Divine Light Suppressing Dark Arts

“When the sacred light shines, all evil dissolves!”

Inside the oppressive underground hall, thick with the heavy aura of death, rolling layers of purplish-black toxic mist slithered like tens of thousands of bloodthirsty venomous insects. Sharlock stood tall, his crimson cloak fluttering amidst the dark storm, the corners of his mouth curving into a cruel and arrogant smirk. He was utterly convinced that with the aid of the primordial forbidden arts and the encompassing blood-pool miasma, no matter how genius this human teenager before him was, he was destined to perish here and become nourishment for the demonic claws beneath his feet.

Yet, in response to the Dark Grand Priest’s utter arrogance, Lin Feng did not retreat even half a step. His deep black eyes flickered with a dazzling layer of golden light—cold as a ten-thousand-year glacial peak, yet carrying the contained fury of heavenly punishment.

Lin Feng’s breathing merged seamlessly with the pulsing tremors of the surrounding space. Within his spiritual sea, the seven previously resplendent star palaces suddenly yielded to a soul-shaking transformation.

“Rumble, rumble, rumble...!”

Supreme majesty flooded the entire chamber. A roar like primordial thunder shattered the shrieking echoes of the demonic phantoms:

“The Eighth Element Star Palace—Divine Sacred Blessing, fully unleash!”

The moment those words left his lips, the entire thousand-square-meter hall shuddered violently. From the crown of Lin Feng’s head, streams of primordial light carrying the energy of creation shot straight up into the air, weaving together at a breathtaking speed. Three hundred and forty-three stardust motes, each shining as brilliantly as a primordial star from the dawn of the universe, whirled frantically around his body. They no longer drifted or shimmered like ordinary magic; instead, they condensed and crystallized into a dazzling golden sun directly above Lin Feng’s head!

This miniature sun radiated a light so pure that any creature tainted by evil aura felt a searing, bone-deep agony just by looking at it. The temperature inside the main hall skyrocketed instantly—not with the vulgar heat of mortal flames, but with the supreme, yang-aligned purification of ancient divine realms!

Sharlock, who had been holding his head high with a loud laugh, froze instantly. The grin on his gaunt, ashen face stiffened. He widened his turbid eyes, staring fixedly at the golden sun hovering above the youth’s head, feeling a crushing weight press down upon his chest that left him nearly suffocated.

“What... what kind of light is that?!” Sharlock blurted out in horror, his aged, raspy voice trembling uncontrollably. “Impossible! This isn’t the ordinary light of Light-element mages! This is... this is a divine miracle!”

Before the Dark Grand Priest could recover from his extreme psychological shock, Lin Feng leaped into mid-air, raising his right hand high forward. His gaze, sharp as chopping blades, locked onto the formidable enemy below. His voice echoed across all directions, carrying the supreme majesty of a deity passing judgment upon sinners:

“Eighth Element: EIGHT-DESOLATION DIVINE RADIANCE!!”

“BOOM——!!”

A cataclysmic explosion resounded across the chamber! The golden sun above Lin Feng’s head abruptly detonated into millions of rays of pure light, sweeping horizontally across the grand hall at the speed of light!

It was a tsunami of light! Splendid and magnificent, yet carrying absolute destructive power against darkness and evil.

In the blink of an eye, as the wave of brilliant light swept across the stone floor, the purplish-black toxic marsh hissed violently upon touching the sacred radiance. The pools of poison—which normally corroded metal and solid stone alike—boiled furiously under the friction of the divine light, shifting from purplish-black to ash-white before evaporating completely into clean air in a split second, leaving not a single trace of filth behind!

“Aaaaa...!”

“Hiss-u-uu...!”

Piercing, tragic shrieks echoed endlessly. Thousands of cursing demonic ghosts crawling up from the ground, grievances and lingering souls imprisoned in this basement for centuries, were pierced straight through the heart the moment they touched the brilliant light wave. Their hazy bodies burned fiercely with pure golden flames, dissolving into nothingness within half a breath and scattering into the wind.

Absolute suppression! There was no stalemate, not a single shred of room for resistance! The Dark Church’s proudest dark art—a black formation accumulated underground for decades—was swept away by the divine light like snow meeting boiling water!

Sharlock felt an invisible yet crushing pressure slam down upon his crown. He let out an agonized shriek as the golden light washed over his body. The ashen, wrinkled skin of the Dark Grand Priest was scorched by the divine light until it emitted a burning stench. Deep, gaping burns appeared across his forehead and cheeks, oozing black, foul-smelling blood that evaporated into black smoke instantly.

The skull scepter in Sharlock’s hand began to crack from the grip to the top, web-like fractures spreading across it before it shattered into fine powder. His cursed crimson cloak began burning in large patches, the golden light clinging fiercely to the evil fabric, impossible to extinguish with ordinary dark magic.

“Hah... Hah...!”

Sharlock staggered back heavily by ten steps. Each footprint left a scorched, smoking impression on the stone floor. He widened his bloodshot eyes, his chest heaving violently before he finally lost control, throwing his head back and coughing up a mouthful of thick, black blood. The blood burst into ashes the moment it hit the ground.

The old man clutched tightly at his torn robes with trembling hands, raising his head to stare at the youth hovering amidst the brilliant golden sky above. His gaze was filled with terror, helplessness, and a primordial fear he had never tasted since stepping onto the path of heresy:

“Light combined with Divine Blessing... Impossible! Absolutely impossible! How... how can a young human brat like you possess such a pure level of divine magic?!”

Sharlock’s voice was intermittent, laden with heavy panting and extreme panic. He had originally thought that with his cultivation and trump cards, crushing Lin Feng would be as easy as flipping his hand. He had wanted to torture his opponent slowly, watching the human genius scream in despair before collapsing at his feet. Yet reality dealt him a ruthless, agonizing blow. The gap between them was not a distance that could be bridged by schemes or dark arts; it was an insurmountable heavenly wall!

Lin Feng slowly descended, his feet touching the ground as lightly as a feather. Around him, the stardust motes continued their flawless orbital dance, emitting a warm yet majestic light that made the air wonderfully pristine. He looked down at his struggling, pathetic enemy, the corners of his lips curving into a cold, mocking smirk:

“Old yet unrepentant, using filthy magic to harm lives means paying the price sooner or later. Sharlock, does this helplessness feel familiar? This is the price paid by those who dare look down upon human lives.”

“You... You dare lecture me?!” Hearing this, Sharlock trembled with rage, bulging veins snaking wildly across his forehead. The contempt and humiliation from someone so young trampled ruthlessly upon a Dark Grand Priest’s pride. He gnashed his teeth so hard they clicked, fresh blood continuing to ooze from the corners of his mouth, though he no longer cared.

Driven into a corner and plunged into utter desperation, Sharlock’s eyes suddenly flushed madly red. His initial fear was quickly replaced by unbridled cruelty and hatred. He knew that if this continued, not only would he fail to exact revenge, but he would also perish in this desolate place at the hands of this human brat.

“Ha ha... Hahaha... Hahahaha!”

Sharlock threw his head back and laughed aloud, his raspy, bone-chilling laughter echoing through the ruined hall. The gaze he cast at Lin Feng now resembled that of a cornered, heavily wounded beast, ready to snap with its dying breath.

“Lin Feng! Do you think you’ve already won? Do you think that driving me to this point gives you the right to look down upon the world from above?!” Sharlock ground out each word through his teeth, his voice steeped in bone-deep hatred. “You forced me to use my ultimate treasure! I’m telling you, even if I have to throw away this old life today, I will drag you and everyone here down to hell to burn with me!”

With that, Sharlock didn’t hesitate for a second, plunging his hand deep into the folds of his smoking, tattered cloak.

His action made the surrounding space freeze momentarily. An ancient, bone-chillingly cold aura emanated from the Dark Grand Priest’s chest, causing even the divine rays surrounding Lin Feng to ripple slightly.

“Careful!” In the distance, a human powerhouse closely trailing behind shouted a warning, sensing a fatal danger about to erupt.

Under the watchful and highly alert gaze of everyone present, Sharlock slowly withdrew his hand from his robe. Clutched tightly within his bony, blood-stained palm was a bizarre object.

It was a heart-shaped stone, no larger than an adult’s fist, yet pitch-black as ink. It was so deep that looking at it gave one the sensation of having their consciousness sucked into a bottomless abyss. More peculiarly, surrounding this pitch-black heart stone were no traces of natural energy; instead, dark purple evil god flames flickered and licked lazily across its surface, rising in plumes of thick black smoke shaped like wailing, tormented faces.

The moment this stone appeared, the temperature inside the hall plummeted below freezing. Ice crystals formed across the floor, and a terrifying pressure far exceeding the Commander realm began to spread, making the atmosphere heavy as lead.

“That stone... The Blood-Heart Demonic God?!” A senior mage blurted out with an ashen complexion, his eyes filled with extreme horror as he recognized the origin of the item in Sharlock’s hand. That was an ancient forbidden artifact sealed since the era of the magical wars; the energy contained within it could obliterate a small city in the blink of an eye!

Sharlock gripped the heart-shaped stone tightly, the veins on his arms bulging like writhing earthworms. He snapped his head up, his scorched, wrinkled face turning more ferocious and terrifying than ever, his mouth curling into a grotesque smile:

“You forced my hand, Lin Feng! Thrilled? Terrified? Today, this seat will bury the lot of you right here as offerings for the resurrection of the Lord of Darkness!”

BOOM!

A violent eruption of dark energy burst from the pitch-black heart stone, swallowing Sharlock’s entire figure into a colossal pillar of energy.
