Volume 2: Shenzhou Academy & The Battle of Venice
The thunderous cheers of fifty thousand spectators and the lingering shockwaves of the grand finals faded into the distance.
Leaving the central arena, Dean Xiao Yan did not lead Lin Feng back to the resting quarters or the reception hall. Instead, placing a heavy hand on the young man’s shoulder, he led him straight into the innermost sanctuary of the Divine Continent Academy—a chamber housing an ancient, moss-covered teleportation array etched with gleaming black metal veins.
“Hold your ground.”
Xiao Yan’s voice was low and stern. His withered hands traced a circle in the air, sending a surge of crimson light to activate the nine Supreme Magic Crystals embedded around the rim of the array.
Whoosh————!
Space distorted violently around them. The shrieking roar of displaced air tore at their eardrums, and the surrounding scenery melted into a chaotic blur. Lin Feng felt his body plummeting through a deep, abyssal spatial tunnel, the ambient magical energy growing thicker and more suffocating with every passing second.
When their boots finally struck solid, flat stone, a bone-chilling draft washed over them, carrying the stale scent of millennia-old rock mixed with the pungent, metallic tang of raw magic ore.
Before Lin Feng’s eyes stretched a colossal subterranean corridor deep beneath the bedrock of the Ancient Imperial Capital, plunging nearly a thousand meters into the earth. Towering vaulted ceilings were supported by massive pillars of black granite, densely carved with defensive spell arrays.
