At the Mountains of Madness

“An Antarctic scientific expedition discovers a colossal pre-human alien metropolis buried in glacial ice, uncovering ancient cosmic entities.”

The definitive magnum opus of cosmic horror by H. P. Lovecraft. Dr. William Dyer, a geologist from Miskatonic University, recounts the harrowing details of a 1930 scientific expedition to Antarctica. Deep beyond uncharted mountain ranges taller than the Himalayas, the scientists uncover the fossilized remains of ancient, starfish-headed alien beings—the Elder Things—and the frozen, cyclopean labyrinth of a vast pre-human metropolis constructed millions of years before the dawn of mankind. As the expedition penetrates the subterranean abysses, they awaken ancient terrors and face the grotesque, amorphous monstrosities known as Shoggoths.
